The Faculty of Engineering of HKUST accepts students on an academic basis. JUPAS students can choose Engineering (JS5200) or Hong Kong's first extended major in Artificial Intelligence (JS5282).
In the first year, students will learn different fields of engineering theory first, and in the next year, they will choose a major or even a minor subject according to their interests, giving students sufficient time to find a way of development in the course.
The latter is specially designed for students who are particularly interested in artificial intelligence. In the first year, they will also dabble in all-round engineering knowledge. First, lay a solid foundation. In the next year, they can choose to major in one of the engineering college courses, and they are guaranteed to take courses.
