The ten walkers, nine English and one American, were filming the avalanche when it changed direction, rushing towards them. All came out safe and sound.

The images are spectacular.

A group of hikers, nine Britons and an American, unaware of the danger, pulled out their smartphones to film the fall of a glacier near Juukudu Gorge, Kyrgyzstan.

One of them posted his video on Instagram.

We see the wave of snow breaking at high speed in a deafening roar, and tumbling down the side of the mountain.

Suddenly, the mass turns right on the group.

Oh God!

dear God!

exclaims the cameraman, realizing the danger too late.

A few seconds later, the icy mass covers his camera, which turns off.

The author of the video recounted the episode on Instagram.

We had just reached the highest point of the trek and I separated from the group to take photos at the top of a hill

,” he reports, acknowledging his lack of caution.

I am very aware that I took a big risk.

I felt like things were under control, but anyway, when the snow started coming...I thought I was going to die

Finally, the cameraman came out safe and sound, “

covered only with a light layer of snow, without a scratch

,” he reports.

Among the ten tourists, none died, “

only one of us seriously cut her knee

”, and another, who fell from his horse, “

suffered slight bruises

”.

According to several media, these two people were hospitalized for injuries and bruises.

If we had walked 5 more minutes for our trek, we would all have died

,” he concludes.

Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Emergency Situations claimed that this glacier, located in the Issyk-Kul mountains, had fallen due to melting.

According to the IPCC report of March 1, the melting of the ice is one of the ten major consequences of global warming, and represents a danger for ecosystems.
