Eching was recently the destination of the NordAllianz municipalities as part of the Stadtradeln.

And there was also a lot of auctioning going on.

The proceeds went to the volunteer group.

Eching

- The rain wasn't really that bad: In the small group of Echinger cyclists equipped with weatherproof equipment, who recently took part in the rally of the Nord-Allianz municipalities at the start of the Stadtradeln campaign under the direction of Mike Steigerwald (ADFC), the well-known said Saying then: "There is no bad weather, there is only wrong clothing."

A one and a half hour tour led past the Hollerner and the Mühlseen

The one and a half hour round trip starting and finishing at Bürgerplatz took you around the Hollerner See in the direction of Lohhof, then north across the Moos and parallel to the A 92 on dirt roads past the Neufahrner Mühlseen and along the railway line back to the town centre.

In the meantime, the seven other delegations from the NordAllianz had arrived at this year's destination, Eching's town hall.

As a welcome, the Echinger Sir Flint's Trio intoned appropriately for the occasion: "Yes, I'm san, my Radl da".

19 percent of Echingers already use their bikes to go shopping

"The real cyclists are now gathered here," said host and mayor Sebastian Thaler, showing his respect to the cycling friends from Neufahrn, Hallbergmoos, Garching, Oberschleißheim, Ismaning and Unterföhring - including six fellow mayors.

As Thaler explained in the welcome address, the nationwide Stadtradeln campaign is also about encouraging people to change their habits and switch from cars to bikes more often.

On the one hand, the residents of Echingen are exemplary as cycling road users, the mayor was satisfied, as 19 percent of them use their bikes to go shopping or to work. This is almost twice as many as in the Bavarian comparison.

First, second, and third: As the auctioneer, Mayor Sebastian Thaler (l.) sold a dozen or so found bicycles to the man or woman.

Thaler's talents were then in demand as an auctioneer for a good cause, because the campaign's motto was "Cycling together for refugees in the region".

The entire income and other donations went to the Echinger refugee helper group.

First, found bikes went under the hammer.

A dozen or so bikes of different formats, labels and conditions found new owners for a low price of five to 100 euros.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

The American auction was exciting, with a high-quality women's trekking bike worth 800 euros sold in five-euro increments.

By banging the gong and by chance, but with a lot of luck, the contract fell to Doris Seifert, who was involved in the circle of helpers and bid.

The auctions raised around 750 euros, topped up by 90 euros by the municipality, which donated ten euros per fellow cyclist.
