The National Police has recovered this morning the body of a lifeless woman with signs of violence inside a sewer in Malaga.

Police sources have explained that her body has not yet been identified and has determined that it is a violent death.

They have also assured that there is an open investigation, which has been taken over by the homicide group of the Provincial Police Station of the capital of Malaga.

A large police operation has moved to a vacant lot located in the Teatinos neighborhood, in the northern part of the capital of Malaga and near the campus of the University of Malaga, where a team of firefighters also went.

The body was found after 12 noon and, hours later, the National Police confirmed it.

The agents have found signs of having suffered attacks on the body, so the main hypothesis is that the woman suffered a violent death.

Due to the state of decomposition in which the body is found, the researchers also believe that it had been inside the sewer for several weeks and that this may delay the identification.

The same police sources have not wanted to reveal if the location of the remains has been thanks to a confession, a call or chance "so as not to hinder the investigation" that the agents of the Homicide Group of the Provincial Police Station of Malaga have opened.

After the activation of the judicial protocol, it is expected that the body will be transferred to the Institute of Legal Medicine to undergo an autopsy.

The case is in the hands of the Court of Instruction Number 10 of Malaga.
