During his visit to Saudi Arabia, US President Joe Biden today (Friday) unveiled the agreement with the Muslim Kingdom, shortly after his visit to Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
Biden has announced that observers in the islands of Tiran and San will leave, and they will become tourist and business sites, and security arrangements will remain as they are to maintain freedom of navigation.

This is in fact the implementation of the additional political part of the agreement being formed between Israel and Saudi Arabia.
The first part was in the morning when they announced the opening of the sky for flights to all destinations for Israeli companies.
As part of the departure of a force overlooking the island of Tiran, the transfer of the islands of Tiran and San to Saudi Arabia, Egypt, will be completed.
The transfer required Israeli approval because it was territory returned to Egypt from Israel under the peace agreement.
Biden also mentioned in his meeting with the Saudi Crown Prince the assassination of Jamal Khushkji and later told reporters that Ben Salman denied that he was involved in the assassination: And whoever we are, I will always stand by those principles. "Biden also told reporters that he had warned Ben Salman of similar actions in the future.

As you may recall, prior to the visit, the White House clarified that Biden would meet with Ben Salman only in large-scale meetings and not in one-on-one meetings.
There was an estimate that Biden would avoid shaking hands with their photo (and before the visit they noted that Biden would not shake hands during his entire visit to the Middle East for fear of Corona).
But as he did in Israel, Biden punched Ben Salman, effectively turning him from a "leper" (as Biden defined him during his presidential run), to a legitimate one.
Biden added that he had managed to reach "significant understandings" in talks with Saudi Arabia regarding the acquisition of American technologies and also for "securing the world's oil supply."
He added that Saudi Arabia's move to open the skies was "the first tangible step towards broader normalization of relations," and described the Saudi move as a "big deal and not just a symbolic one": "They will leave the island of Tiran, where they have been since the Camp David Accords. Five American soldiers died in 2020 on this strategic island of Tiran, and thanks to this breakthrough it will be open to tourism and economic development, and all security arrangements will remain, including Israel's freedom of navigation."
According to a senior American source, as part of the new understandings with Saudi Arabia, it was reported that it would agree to discuss the opening of a direct line between Israel and the kingdom for Muslim pilgrims.
