Two rockets were launched tonight (light for Saturday) from the Gaza Strip towards the city of Ashkelon and its environs.
Fighters from the Iron Dome system intercepted one rocket and the other fell in an open area.
A spokeswoman for the Ashkelon municipality announced: "An alarm was recently sounded throughout the city of Ashkelon. The IDF spokesman said that one launch had been identified from the Gaza Strip, which was intercepted by air defense fighters, and another launch that fell in an open area."
Magen David Adom reported that two victims of anxiety were evacuated to Barzilai Hospital but no calls were received for casualties as a result of the incident.
Videos uploaded to social networks showed that an alarm was indeed sounded in the city but no evidence of damage or casualties was received at this stage in the city.
