In the village of Amra, in the countryside of Safita, the activities of Al-Sanabel festivals were launched this evening, through the matches of the (Bamra Football League) for the year 2022, which will last for a month, in which about 32 teams from a number of Syrian governorates participate.
In the opening speech, a member of the Executive Office in Tartous Governorate, Ratib Ibrahim, pointed out the great effort and status that the people of the region make to hold the festival, with the presence of the artistic, cultural, sports and popular idea in it.
And the mayor of Umrah, Louay Suleiman, said in an exclusive statement to SANA that the presence of a sporting and cultural environment in the region and the supportive and loving popular attendance had the greatest impact in holding the festival over its 22 years.
The league, which hosted the Martyr Salah Jamil Omran School Square, started with a sports dance show by the Zumba group, followed by a friendly exhibition match between the teams of the veterans of the village of Amra and the veterans of the villages of Safita.
The head of the festival's Sports Committee, Manhal Abdullah, said in an exclusive statement to SANA that the importance of the league lies in the fact that it carries a popular social, ethical value to highlight, refine and qualify emerging talents to be in the ranks of sports clubs in the future.
He stressed the keenness to hold the festival, which was suspended for two years due to the Corona pandemic, to return with greater force, with the participation of teams from the governorates of Homs and Hama, in addition to the governorate of Tartous.
In turn, the director of the Sanabel Festival, Dana Abdel Rahim, explained that it is being held with effort and follow-up from civil and popular activities from the local community, with support from government agencies in the governorate.
She pointed out that the various artistic cultural activities of the festival begin in the second half of next August with the end of the sports league, which concludes with the coronation of the first team and includes exhibitions of painting, sculpture and heritage collectibles, in addition to rural food products and handicrafts, with an artistic ceremony accompanied by honoring the distinguished with the two certificates, the families of the martyrs and cultural and literary figures Within the Safita region sector.
The opening ceremony was attended by the governor of Tartous, lawyer Safwan Abu Saadi, the secretary of the Arab Socialist Baath Party branch, Muhammad Habib Hussein, Fajr Ibrahim, the coach of the Syrian national team, and Imad Hammad, head of the Tartous Sports Federation.
