This is the shocking resuscitation maneuver to save an elephant in Thailand

The one-year-old elephant calf fell into a hole and began screaming, stressing the mother, who had to be sedated and then resuscitated. Both animals are doing well.

A veterinarian, several volunteers and staff from a national park rescued an elephant and her calf in Thailand's Nakon Nayok province on Wednesday.

It all started when the calf, about a year old, fell into the drain of a golf course, a huge concrete hole, probably because of the mud caused by the monsoon rains in the Asian country.

The young elephant began to scream at the impossibility of getting out of the hole.

The distraught mother refused to leave her side of her calf, making her rescue impossible.

The rescue team had to sedate her very stressed mother to relax, causing her to also fall partially into the hole.

Later, a bulldozer removed the earth so that the eager baby could get out of the hole on its own despite the mud.

Then a crane lifted her mother and brought her to the surface.

At that time, the veterinarians had to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers.

In the video you can see how several people jump on the heart of the huge pachyderm, so that it does not stop beating.

After a few minutes, the mother regained consciousness and both elephants were able to return to the natural environment where they live.
