In his teens, Omar Apollo began working in one of the McDonald's chains in Indiana, in the United States, to generate money that would lead him to his dream: to make music, to be an artist.

Five years later, the Mexican-American singer returns to that fast-food restaurant to, if you will, come full circle.

And it is that he now works with them in a very different way, in the role of his artist.

Omar Apollo was a cashier at McDonald's

"I started working with McDonald's when I was about 16 years old until about 18. I started working there to make music," Omar Apollo told CNN Pop Zone through a conversation via Zoom.

"I was working as a cashier, I didn't want to work in the kitchen. I wanted people to see my face [laughs]," says Omar Apollo.

The proposal came to him when the singer was touring the United States with his "Unveiled" tour, with which he made a stop at Coachella and appeared in cities such as San Francisco, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Atlanta, Miami and others. .

"I was on tour [when the proposal came]. I like to do things that feel good to me," he says.

Participation has led Mexican supporters to feel represented in the initiative.

"I like when people tell me that they can identify with me and I have been receiving tweets where they tell me that they like that there is a Mexican collaborating with McDonald's. It is important that people see representation, I did not grow up with that. I like to see that people say they feel inspired and that is what I take away from this, without a doubt," says Omar Apollo to Zona Pop CNN.

This is not the first time that this brand incorporates a Latin artist in its specials.

In 2020, Colombian singer J Balvin launched a combo with the network.
