Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova confirmed that the sanctions imposed by America and Western countries on Russia immediately affected them.
This came in response to the European Union Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and Security Josep Borrell's call for the European people to exercise strategic patience until the sanctions against Russia prove their effectiveness in light of the increasing complaints of Europeans about their effects on them, according to the website of the Russian RT channel.
"They really waited... Borrell doesn't know this," Zakharova said. "Many residents of the European Union immediately felt the impact of the anti-Russian sanctions on themselves."
She added, mocking Borrell: The people of Asia, Africa and other regions also assessed the impact of the illegal unilateral restrictions imposed by Washington and Brussels on Russia.
Zakharova also ridiculed the dismissal of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky from his regime, saying: "Zelensky has dismissed the head of the Security Service, Ivan Bakanov, and Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova.. de-Nazification continues in full swing in Ukraine."
