The Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei, reiterated his country’s rejection of any aggression on Syrian territory and the necessity of preventing it, while Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed the need for the Syrian island to return to the control of the Syrian state.
During his meeting in Tehran today with President Putin, Ayatollah Khamenei said that a political solution to the crisis in Syria is extremely important and any aggression on its lands must be prevented, stressing that the US occupation must be expelled from Syria's fertile and oil-rich areas.
Khamenei called for vigilance against the deceptive policies of the West, stressing that global events show the need of Iran and Russia to increase mutual cooperation.
With regard to the events in Ukraine, Khamenei stressed that the West is totally against Russia being strong and independent, warning that NATO is a dangerous bloc that will not know borders and if it is not stopped in Ukraine, it will launch war later on the pretext of the events in Crimea.
Khamenei made it clear that America and the West are now weaker than before, and despite their efforts, the possibility of their policies succeeding in our region has greatly diminished, including in Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Palestine.
The Leader of the Iranian Islamic Revolution condemned the interference of the Zionist entity in the affairs of the region.
The Leader of the Iranian Islamic Revolution called for long-term cooperation between Iran and Russia in a deep way for the benefit of the two countries, pointing out that the many understandings and agreements between the two countries, including in the oil and gas sector, must be implemented and followed up until the end, stressing that economic cooperation between Tehran and Moscow, especially in the wake of the Western embargo, is necessary and in the interest of both. The two countries called for vigilance from the deception of the West.
Putin: Opposing any military attack on northern Syria
During the meeting, which was attended by Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, the Russian President stressed that his country and Iran are jointly fighting terrorism in Syria, pointing out that the two countries' positions on the Syrian file are identical, including opposition to any military aggression on northern Syria, stressing the necessity of returning the Syrian Arab Army's control over the Syrian island.
During the meeting, the Russian President presented the roots of the differences between Russia and Ukraine, especially the provocative Western and American actions in recent years, including the coup in Ukraine, as well as the expansion policy of NATO, noting that European countries said they were against Ukraine's membership in NATO, but agreed to that under American pressure, which indicates the Its lack of sovereignty and independence, noting that no one supports the war and the loss of ordinary people's lives, but the behavior of the West left Moscow no choice but to respond.
Putin pointed out that the assassination of Major General Qassem Soleimani was another example of the evils of the Americans, pointing out that Western sanctions against Russia had harmed the West, and the result was problems such as high oil prices and a food supply crisis.
He pointed to the abuse by the United States of the dollar tool to ban and loot other countries, stressing that this harms them and weakens global confidence in this currency and the movement of countries to use alternative currencies, revealing that Russia and Iran are designing ways to use national currencies in the relations between the two countries.
Putin noted the progress of cooperation between the two countries in all sectors and projects, and in the military field, they are also trying to develop cooperation between the two countries, as well as trilateral cooperation and maneuvers with China.
