Military parade on July 20 for the Independence of Colombia: schedule and how to watch on television and the internet

On July 20, Independence Day is celebrated in Colombia and after two years of absence due to the coronavirus pandemic, the traditional military parade will return to the streets and skies of Colombia.

In 2022 it will be 212 years since the Independence of Colombia and for this reason the Public Force —Air Force, Army, Navy and the National Police— will carry out a military parade through the streets of Bogotá, the Colombian capital.

The parade

11,600 members of the public force will participate in this parade, according to the Ministry of Defense.

This year the military parade will be held in the north of Bogotá, unlike previous years when it was held in the west of the capital, on Avenida 68, due to the Metro works.

Delegations from the Army, Navy and Air Force, as well as from the National Police and the Public Force, will tour Boyacá Avenue from Calle 152 and 127. It will be a public event that citizens can attend, as is tradition.

The event will be from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

During the event, a review will be held showing the capabilities of the armed forces such as "their different weapons, cavalry, infantry, combined arms, engineering capabilities, logistics, and humanitarian demining," said General Adolfo Hernández Ruiz, head of the Joint Department of Operations of the Colombian Navy, to the Institutional Channel of Colombia.
