Hundreds of Sri Lankan soldiers invaded the main camp of anti-government protesters in the capital Colombo overnight from Thursday to Friday and began to remove the tents of the protesters, noted an AFP journalist.
Security forces and police launched the operation targeting protesters who blocked the presidential palace hours before they were due to vacate the premises.
