At about 5 pm today (21st), the police received a report from the public that a taxi stopped at Matheson Street opposite Times Square in Causeway Bay. He tried to wake him up by knocking on the car body, but the male driver still did not respond, suspecting that he fainted in the car.
After rescuers arrived at the scene, the taxi driver was still unconscious and was taken to Ruttonjee Hospital for further treatment.
Police are cordoning off the scene for investigation.
It is understood that the victim, surnamed Zhao, was about 40 years old and was at the slow line of Matheson Street at the time of the incident, waiting to enter the taxi stand on Russell Street.
