The Ernst family has been creating a special labyrinth in Utting am Ammersee every year since 1999.

This year it is dedicated to world peace and offers various activities.

Utting am Ammersee - Setting a sign of peace is gaining in importance with regard to current world events.

For this reason, the Ernst family came up with a very special campaign.

Every year they sow a labyrinth of plants in a field in Utting am Ammersee (district of Landsberg am Lech).

This year it has become a world map and a dove of peace, according to the

news agency .

The motif is only recognizable from high in the air.

From the ground up, the field is a maze of over 350,000 plants.

The pattern is created by the paths, as operator Corinne Ernst explains.

Her family has planted a different maze for its guests every year since 1999.

It is now the 24th time.

There is always something special on offer in the maze.

"We've thought for a long time that the world really deserved to be our subject and to become an issue, that it just got more attention," Corinne Ernst told

"And of course the dove of peace has a current reason - which is now rather sad." The family wants to use their motif to try to bring people to a peaceful and better relationship with each other.

In the special labyrinth dedicated to world peace, special activities are also offered.

"This year we're going on a world trip and everyone can choose what kind of world trip it should be," explains Ernst.

The maze is designed as a hidden object game.

Among other things, there is a culinary trip around the world with specialties from all over the world or a wine tasting that goes through the labyrinth.

Many types of plants are used for the labyrinth at Ammersee

The labyrinth at Lake Ammersee has consisted of sunflowers since the very beginning.

Over the years, many other plant varieties such as ornamental gourds, corn and mallow have been added.

At the end of the maze season, the plants are returned as green thinning.

The whole mixture is then chopped up and worked back into the soil.

The maze is open all summer and into autumn.
