Herrsching - Two weeks ago, a kangaroo escaped from its enclosure in Breitbrunn.

Now the story of the now nationally known animal has come to a happy end.

Since July 11, the Herrsching police and numerous concerned citizens have been looking for the kangaroo, which escaped from its enclosure near Breitbrunn and has been roaming through the woods ever since.

Herrschinger kangaroo becomes a media star

In the meantime, the marsupial even became a small media star and made it onto the home page of the regional press with its excursion, but also onto the Internet with numerous clicks.

Now the story of the little Australian has a happy ending.

On Sunday, walkers discovered the wallaby in a forest conservation area near Herrsching and informed the police.

A veterinarian was called who drugged the kangaroo so that it could be captured and returned safely to its owner.
