It is not new that the console market is divided into two camps: PlayStation and Xbox.
And it cannot be said that over the years there was great love there.
Each side claimed its superiority over the other, and although as time progresses the term "console war" becomes irrelevant, there are still quite a few players who claim that the brand they love is the preferred option.
In case you were wondering, the executives at Sony and Microsoft don't necessarily take sides in this eternal debate, and they've never been afraid to favor the competitor when necessary.
As for example Phil Spencer, CEO of Xbox, who stated on Twitter that one of the games he is most looking forward to playing in the coming year is God of War Ragnarök (which will be released this November) - which, as you probably know, is exclusive to the PlayStation consoles.

The Xbox Twitter page published a post during the last day where they asked surfers about the first game they played, the last game they played, their favorite game, the game they are currently playing, the game they are most interested in playing soon, and the game they would show a caveman.
Spencer responded and answered: "The first game is Pong, the last game I played was Road 96, the favorite game is Robotron: 2084, the game currently playing is the Hot Wheels expansion in Forza Horizon, the game I most want to play is God of War Ragnarök, and the game I was A mirror for a caveman is Luminus."
The support also comes from Sony's side
And before you jump to claim Sony's superiority and its exclusives, consider that Corey Barlog, the director of God of War (2018) said on Twitter just about a month ago that he is waiting and excited for Starfield - the game from the Bethesda company acquired by Microsoft, which has already been announced as an Xbox exclusive and in Game Pass.

The term "console war" is becoming obsolete as time progresses, and the long-standing rivalry between Sony and Xbox is slowly becoming a thing of the past.
Both companies operate in different ways in order to reach a different audience of players.
Phil Spencer, CEO of Xbox, has stated himself over the past few years that he no longer sees Sony as competition, and it seems that the term remains relevant mainly among fans. And it's a shame.
