District – It is scheduled to go into operation nine years later, and the first trains will not run through the second trunk line until 2037.
A message that not only frightened commuters - but also the district administrators of the composite districts in the MVV, whose spokesman is District Administrator Robert Niedergesäß.
"In view of the almost daily traffic collapse within and around the state capital, this is a sheer disaster," write the district administrators in a letter to Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU).
The S-Bahn Munich is the backbone of local public transport in the greater Munich area, the poor performance is already no longer communicable, let alone reasonable.
Railway development has not been able to keep pace with passenger development in recent decades.
Therefore, according to the demand, investments in rail transport must now have clear priority over the tariff gifts currently being discussed in politics.
We must now clarify together which improvements are already possible.
The railways must finally live up to their responsibilities. Last year, the Free State of Munich, the city of Munich and the associated districts wrote to the DB board of directors asking for a meeting to improve the quality of the S-Bahn.
To date, however, there has not been a meeting on the part of the railway.
The measures listed in the Free State's program entitled "Railway expansion in the Munich region", which would increase the performance of the rail network beyond the 2nd main line, must now be pursued further, deepened and implemented as quickly as possible.
