Bad Tölz – The "da Vinci" surgical robot system has been in use in urology since July 2017.

The Asklepios Stadtklinik Bad Tölz describes its new equipment as a great success for patients and doctors.

In March 2022, the Tölzer Stadtklinik received one of the latest generations of the surgical robot, the "da Vinci X" surgical system.

Asklepios has now reached another milestone.

In urology, the 1,000th operation has now been performed with the high-tech system.

After this experience in urology, the Asklepios Stadtklinik has been using the “da Vinci” in surgery for a few months now.

The "da Vinci" surgical robot system has been in use in urology since Professor Roman Ganzer started as chief physician for urology at the Bad Tölz City Clinic in July 2017.

According to Asklepios, the robot enables very precise surgery that is gentle on the patient.

Mainly patients with prostate and kidney cancer are treated.

In Asklepios Klinik, patients usually get fit and pain-free quickly

But the system is also used for bladder and ureter cancer.

Complex reconstructions, such as the treatment of narrowing of the ureter or the bladder outlet, as well as the removal of metastases in the event of cancer recurrence, are also carried out with the "da Vinci".

"After more than 1,000 operations, it is clear that the patients are usually fit again quickly and can leave the hospital pain-free after a few days," emphasizes the chief physician of urology, Roman Ganzer.

"The patients now not only come from the region, but also from far beyond the region."
