The World Health Organization announced that the Corona virus pandemic has killed one million people worldwide since the beginning of this year, calling for an acceleration of vaccination operations.
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said today in a press conference: “We have passed the tragic stage of the death of one million people around the world this year, at a time when one third of the world’s population is still without a vaccine, including two thirds of health workers. health care and three-quarters of older adults in low-income countries.
Ghebreyesus called on governments of all countries to redouble their efforts to vaccinate all health care workers, the elderly and other people most at risk.
