Damascus, SANA- The United States of America has worked since its inception to present itself to the world as a model of democracy and self-confidence

Damascus-SANA

Since its inception, the United States of America has worked to present itself to the world as a model for democracy, constitutional institutions and civil liberties. It has tried for decades to spread democracy in its own way, and it has failed miserably, embodied in the spread of violence and murder in its states and the increase in conflicts between its political leaders to the extent that experts and study centers have predicted the outbreak of a civil war that threatens its future.

“The United States may be on the brink of civil war,” a major headline issued by the British Guardian newspaper for days, which warned that the growing distrust of American political institutions indicates that the country may be on the brink of a new internal conflict.

In this context, the founder of the California Research Center for the Study of Gun Violence, Dr. Garen Wintmott, told the Guardian, “The warnings about the impending civil war in America were just speculation, but an opinion poll conducted by the center last July showed amazing results, as it turned out that half of Americans expect civil war in the United States.” the next few years and that one in five of them believes that political violence is justified in some circumstances.”

He attributed the escalation and exacerbation of violent threats to the growth of arms sales: “What happens when you take a community that fears more and more for its future, more and more polarized, more and more angry at itself, and throws a bunch of weapons into its hands?”

In turn, civil strife specialist Rachel Kleinfeld pointed out that the political system in America does not guarantee that violent conflict will not occur in the country, explaining that between three to five million Americans are willing to harm other Americans because of their political beliefs, which indicates that the people of the United States are disappointed. Much of his democracy is not believed to work, according to the Guardian.

It seems that Washington, which used to export democracy as an essential part of its brand, now needs to convince the Americans themselves of that democracy, after exposing the falsity of its democracy through its arrogance, mistakes and flaws, and the bad history of using this so-called democracy as punishment against governments that do not follow its approach and use it. To interfere in the affairs of others and to exploit its alleged terms and concepts of terrorism, opposition and human rights, and to distribute its classifications of countries and peoples according to their whims and to serve their interests.

A new opinion poll conducted by NBC News revealed that 74 percent of Americans believe that the United States is heading in the wrong direction, with more than 58 percent of American voters expressing great concern about what is happening in their country, while 61 percent of them affirmed their dissatisfaction with the path. Their country is heading, stressing their readiness to go out in protests to demand an improvement in their conditions.

And about what the American magazine Foreign Affairs reported about the escalation of tensions between political leaders in the United States and the entry of the two largest parties, the “Democratic and Republican” in a major and public conflict, and each of them having a counter-reaction greater than the other that sometimes exceeds the limits of the Constitution, Canadian researcher Homer Dixon predicted From the Cascade Institute at Royal Rhodes University, American democracy is collapsing and at risk of civil war by 2030 due to the spread of right-wing populist rhetoric.

As for British Professor Paul Kennedy, author of the book “The Rise and Decline of Great Powers,” which identified a number of reasons for the decline of empires, most notably military expansion that exceeded economic capabilities, the explosion of internal conflicts and the emergence of competing great powers, he saw that all these conditions apply to the United States, especially with regard to internal divisions and the harbinger of war. Eligibility and competition between China and Russia has been embodied in the recent developments in Ukraine and Taiwan.

While the indications that America is facing a fateful challenge increase, especially with the emergence of separatist tendencies from some states, Washington is still deceiving itself and others and is still caught in the trap of believing its false and deceptive concept of democracy.
