Suspected assassination attempt in Lod: A 50-year-old man was fatally wounded today (Friday) after being shot in the bullet square on Ben Gurion Boulevard in Lod.

Emergency medicine medic at MDA, Dolev Soroka: "The injured man suffered from penetrating injuries to his body and was unconscious without a pulse and without breathing.
We gave him initial medical treatment in the field and evacuated him to the hospital while performing resuscitation operations when his condition was critical."
Shalom Levy medic of the Rescue Union: "We helped other medics who were on the scene and gave the injured first aid. According to passers-by, he was injured as a result of a violent incident."
Naftali Robert, another medic of the Rescue Union added: "After the initial aid we provided to the injured at the scene, he was referred to the Shamir-Assaf Harofeh Medical Center, where at this stage his condition is defined as critical."
