Lawyers for WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange have filed an appeal in Britain against his extradition to the United States.
The media quoted WikiLeaks as confirming today that Assange's legal team submitted a full basis for an appeal in the British Supreme Court against the United States and the British Home Secretary Priti Patel, who agreed to extradite him last June, explaining that the document contains important new evidence in favor of Assange.
Officials in international press unions called on the 22nd of last June for Assange's release, stressing that the British government's decision to extradite him to the United States is a flagrant violation of human rights.
Assange faces 18 charges related to exposing the site that was created by nearly 500,000 secret files on the wars and crimes committed by the United States in Afghanistan, Iraq and others.
