Accident, suicide or sexual games that degenerate?
An investigation into the causes of death was opened by the Nanterre prosecutor's office after the discovery, on Friday afternoon, of the lifeless body of a 43-year-old man in his apartment in Courbevoie.
The victim, an IT executive, was found by the firefighters, very quickly joined by the police and the deputy public prosecutor of Nanterre in an apartment on rue Lambrechts.
The emergency services had themselves been alerted by a work colleague of the deceased, worried not to see him return to the office and not to have any news.
The man was in his room where he was lying on his bed, partly naked in the middle of a poorly maintained apartment where an impressive disorder reigned.
Disturbing detail: his head was covered with a plastic bag, his ankles were tied, but not his hands.
Accessories and sex toys were also found near the bed.
There is no indication of the intervention of a third party
"According to initial findings, the victim's body bore no traces of blows," said a source close to the case.
There does not appear to have been a struggle and the apartment shows no signs of a break-in.
“According to our information, the door to the accommodation, when the emergency services arrived, was firmly closed but not locked.
Could the man have tied his feet and then put the bag over his head himself?
Did he want to end his life or did he succumb to an erotic game that aims to reach ecstasy by asphyxiation before being abandoned by his partner?
No hypothesis has yet been ruled out.
The police officers in charge of the investigations are notably awaiting the results of the autopsy of the body and the toxicological examinations which should make it possible to learn more about what really caused the death of this computer executive.
"For the moment, nothing in this case indicates that there was the intervention of a third party" blows the same source.
Moreover, it is not the judicial police of Hauts-de-Seine but the local police station of Courbevoie which is currently seized of this investigation for research into the causes of death.
