Crushed by a statue, a child of Naples dies in Munich

(ANSA) - NAPLES, AUGUST 27 - Tragedy in a hotel in Monaco diBaviera where Lavinia Trematerra, a seven-year-old Neapolitan child, daughter of lawyers MicheleTrematerra and Valentina Poggi, lost her life.

In the late afternoon yesterday, as we read on the website of the Rome newspaper, while her child was in the hotel where she was staying with her parents she was struck by a marble statue.


    "You are and will always be our rip angel. Love of our life", this is the moving farewell message from my mother on Facebook.


    The child's father immediately intervened and the child was transported to the hospital, but there was nothing for her to do.


    Investigations are underway on the accident.

According to preliminary information, the statue was not anchored to the ground and fell on top of Lavinia while she was playing.


    Many messages of condolence.

"Our life has changed," lawyer Trematerra told one of his friends and colleagues who called him to confirm the terrible news.
