In a video posted on his Instagram account, filmed in Oran during his visit to Algeria, Emmanuel Macron wanted to make a dedication to… DJ Snake.
The place was not chosen at random: it is the Disco Maghreb shop, popularized by the DJ who made it a title released at the end of May.

Alongside Boualem Benhaoua, 68, owner of the place, world figure of raï, Emmanuel Macron speaks directly to the Franco-Algerian artist DJ Snake.
“We celebrate the raï of yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Thank you for bringing this place back to life,” he says, before winking.
In a video of the visit, captured by BFM TV, Emmanuel Macron says that "it's a shame" that DJ Snake lives in Saudi Arabia.

In shirtsleeves, Emmanuel Macron chatted with the boss of the label, Boualem Benhaoua, 68, who told him that “new talents would soon be recorded in a seaside studio”.
He then took a walk in the crowd before meeting breakdance champions.
