Islamabad-SANA
Pakistan today declared a state of emergency after 1,000 people were killed and thousands displaced by floods so far.
The Xinhua news agency quoted the Pakistani government as saying in a statement: "The floods have affected more than 33 million people and about one million homes."
The government added that the cause of these floods is climate change and that the country is affected by the repercussions of climate change resulting from environmental pollution.
Forty-five people were killed and 111 others were injured earlier in the day as a result of floods caused by monsoon rains during the past 24 hours in the country.
