When she assumed the position of Minister of Education, many citizens placed their kosher hopes in her, which is not a political but a professional appointment.
There is no better minister than the Doctor of Education, who will not deal with all the sheiks of Ben David, Ran Erez and their surroundings - but purely in restoring and taking the education system forward, while looking at the students and not at any other narrow consideration.
So what changed, how did the road to Shasha Beaton get lost?
The stubborn fight with the Treasury - which seems to be taking place without a real desire for compromise - mainly serves a party political agenda, and not the Minister of Education who just a year ago showed us otherwise.
She has two days left to make a simple decision: what is more important - electoral politics, or the education of Israel's children?
