The police gave the all-clear: there were probably no plans by a man to attack a nuclear power plant.

A media report caused a stir.

Hamburg - A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of violating the Weapons and War Weapons Control Act.

The alleged arms dealer has been in custody since August 21, a spokeswoman for the Hamburg public prosecutor said on Tuesday when asked.

During a search of two apartments in Hamburg, a submachine gun and a silencer were found, among other things.

newspaper, according to which another suspect was on the run with 200 kilograms of explosives and that an attack on the decommissioned nuclear power plant near Greifswald was planned.

"There is no valid evidence of an attack on anything whatsoever."

According to the newspaper, investigators had searched a forest in Lower Saxony in addition to the searches in Hamburg.

There they had hoped or expected to find 200 kilograms of C4 explosives.

According to the newspaper, in 2014 he was stolen from a Danish military depot and then smuggled across the German border.

According to the Federal Network Agency, longer nuclear power plant runtimes may be necessary due to the lack of electricity in Europe.

However, nuclear power cannot serve as a substitute for the lack of gas.
