Heritage, intellectual and cinematic activities witnessed by the seventh Sultan Pasha Al-Atrash Cultural Festival on its second day, which is organized by the Directorate of Culture in Sweida, in appreciation of the heroism of the great Mujahid and his companions across the country who made their sacrifices and heroisms the glory of Gala.

The events included a heritage morning with the participation of civil and official activities, which included a visit to hostels that witnessed the meetings of the pillars of the Great Syrian Revolution in the villages of Kafr Al-Lahf and Raymah Al-Lahf to celebrate its struggle history, accompanied by the presentation of a folk art segment for the Al-Adyat Association band.

During the morning, the researcher Kamal Al-Khoufi gave a lecture in which he discussed the meetings that took place in the hostel of the Mujahid Shaheen Abu Fakhr with senior Damascene national leaders and others in the village of Kafr Al-Lahf between the 22nd and the 29th of August 1925, which preceded the Raymah Al-Lahf conference in which it was decided to continue the revolution until the victory of the revolution. The country has complete independence, naming Sultan Pasha al-Atrash as commander-in-chief of the revolution, forming the Revolutionary Command Council, and calling on the Syrians to take up arms.

The Palace of Culture in As-Suwayda hosted this evening a lecture by researcher Dr. Fendi Abu Fakher entitled “The Great Syrian Revolution and its leader Sultan Pasha al-Atrash as seen by the French,” during which he referred to the repercussions of the Great Syrian Revolution on the French occupation government, which worked to falsify facts and lies in an attempt to justify and downplay the revolution. That it was a sectarian, regional or even family act, and what the French press and administration practiced at the time to prevent the publication of its news so that international and French public opinion would not revolt against it before it became clear to them that it was a national Arab revolution that rose up to expel the occupier. For his crimes in Syria, as well as General Sarai.

The Arab Cultural Center in the city of Shahba, as part of the demonstration of the revolution in the eyes of the Syrian cinema, presented the film “Abu Saber” produced by the Rawan Foundation for Artistic Production and directed by Walid Al-Aqel, which sheds light on the stories of the ancestors and their struggle legacy and some aspects of the suffering experienced by the Mujahideen during the days of French colonialism through the story of the Mujahid Abu Saber Hamad Diab and his companions who poured their blood on the soil of their homeland to achieve its independence, freedom and unity of land.

The festival continues tomorrow with a set of intellectual, heritage, literary and artistic activities in a number of cultural centers in the governorate.
