Teachers, school bus drivers, accompanying students with disabilities (AESH)… This start of the 2022 school year is
“the start of the shortage”

Faced with the 4,000 vacancies in the teacher competitions, as well as the increase in resignations, the ministry tried to deal with the emergency.
The rectorates were authorized to draw from the additional lists of competitions and organized major recruitment campaigns for contract workers.
One of the challenges for the next few years will be to retain these contractors, by encouraging them to renew their contracts or take competitive exams.
Pap Ndiaye has also announced the opening, in the spring of 2023, of an exceptional competition for the tenure of
"a certain number of these
contract teachers" of the first degree.
The AESH, responsible for supporting students with disabilities, are also understaffed.
