All Mexicans over 60 who do not yet have their Inapam credential can process it now, according to the announcement by the Ministry of Welfare.
We explain how to do it.
To obtain the credential from the National Institute for the Elderly (Inapam), the first thing you must do is find out which Well-being Module is closest to you.
According to the Welfare Secretariat, the number of modules in the country was increased from 650 to 2,500.
You can check which one suits you best on the website gob.mx/bienestar.
Office hours are Monday through Saturday between 10 am and 4 pm (local time).
Make sure that when you go you take with you the necessary documentation to be granted the credential:
Official identification that is valid (the original document and a copy)
CURP (Unique Population Registry Code)
A birth certificate that is legible
A proof of address that is not more than six months old
A recent child-sized photograph
A contact telephone number for emergencies
In the Welfare Modules, the procedure is simple: the data is entered into the system, they print the credential and they give it to you.
The procedure has no cost.
If for any reason of force majeure you cannot attend the module in person, you must request that they make a visit to your home.
Remember that you can also ask a person you trust to help you when doing the process.

The new credentials have a different image, according to the authorities, because they incorporate an online system linked to the National Population Registry and a digital seal that allows verification that the document is authentic and access benefits and discounts.
However, if you already have a credential, you do not need to change it.
The old model is still valid.
Currently, according to official data, more than 6,000 companies or private corporations have an agreement to apply benefits to older adults who have the Inapam credential.
Small businesses and businesses also participate in this policy.
The benefits cover various areas such as food, purchase of medicines and clinical studies, cultural activities and transportation.
