Scientists at the Florida Aquarium have for the first time successfully bred elkhorn coral, an important coral species in the Caribbean.
Until now it had been difficult to cultivate it in aquariums and this achievement could revitalize Caribbean ecosystems and would be key to halting the degradation suffered by coral reefs throughout the world.
