The Homs branch of the Arab Writers Union chose to read the poetry collection (In the Presence of the Body) by the poet Muhammad Ali Al-Khaddour, issued by the Arab Writers Union in 2019 as the subject of a literary evening presented by the writer Dr. Sharif Shaheen at the Union Hall in Homs.
And Shaheen indicated that the poet in his group was able to conjure up a paradise whose sides dance with lush shadows of metaphor that raise the reader to heavens looking for women and the homeland in the dream and in the lofty madness that escapes from the hell of reality and restores the brokenness of the soul, a single captive, that he immerses in many of his poems.
Shaheen explained that the soul remained a graceful ballet dancer, flying and faltering on his poetic stage, flying away in the space of the anxious soul, or splintering under the hammers of a fierce nature, pointing out that the collection included 32 poems lying on a family of 120 pages of medium pieces bearing titles of suggestive poems whose contents sometimes jump outside the borders Boundaries of themes for spaces are welcome.
And the poet Muhammad Ali al-Khadour read a selection of poems from his group (In the presence of the body), which bore the titles (Kaf Noun - I do not love you - in the presence of the body - metaphors of dew - in Damascus).
The event was attended by a crowd of poets, writers and those interested in cultural affairs.
