A Regensburg resident is considering not heating this winter.

But should this be done at all or is it perhaps even harmful to the building?

Regensburg - The energy crisis triggered by the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine is also affecting Germany.

Everything is getting more expensive, including energy (e.g. electricity and gas).

On Instagram, Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder has already been angrily asked by users to finally do something.

Expensive energy crisis: not heating to save money?

If you don't get cold easily, you could even get the idea of simply not heating in order to save energy and money.

This is also the case in Regensburg: “Seriously, is it bad not to heat at all in winter?

So for the building, I don't get cold that quickly anyway, ”writes one person on Saturday (September 3) on Jodel.

Electricity and gas are becoming more expensive: just not heating?

"It depends on the building"

"You just have to be careful that the lines don't freeze over," is the first answer.

"Don't underestimate that.

If you don't heat at all, at some point you won't be able to take it anymore.

It's getting so cold you're just shivering.

The walls also get mouldy," warns a second person.

"It depends on the building.

It doesn't matter with an apartment in the residential complex, it looks completely different in a single family house," says another person.

"You shouldn't let your apartment fall below 15 degrees because of mold and you should definitely let hot water run through the pipes because of legionella," is another tip.

Survey: Majority wants less heating in winter

The high rent for an apartment in Regensburg is discussed on Jodel.

"They're all just crazy," it says.

Even a landlord gets involved.

Regensburg-Jodel: "You can sit in the cold booth, I'm sure not"

Not everyone can understand the plan: "You're welcome to sit in the cold booth, I'm sure not," someone comments.

"I was about to turn on the heating today... I wouldn't be able to stand it like that in the winter," writes another person.
