At first reluctant to participate in the National Council for Refoundation (CNR), convened this Thursday in Marcoussis by Emmanuel Macron, the main associations of local elected officials finally changed their minds.
While the Assembly of the departments of France, the Association of mayors of France and Regions of France had estimated last week that the CNR
"did not seem (their) appropriate to discuss the issues falling within the competences of our communities",
the three associations decided to participate following a meeting with the President of the Republic on Monday evening.
“The CNR is the meeting place for those who wish to move forward in the dialogue to overcome the challenges facing the country,
rejoiced at the Élysée.
We only win through dialogue.
The policy of the empty chair does not advance the files.
