For now, the Parliament maintains six advisers to Laura Borràs despite the decline of their role

The Chamber spends almost 26,000 euros per month on the salaries of the suspended president's collaborators

Laura Borràs is no longer president of the Parlament, but the Board of the regional Chamber has decided to keep her six advisers for now (the seventh left the post weeks ago) and not terminate their contract.

The Table, provisionally led by the first vice president Alba Vergés (ERC), debated the matter on Tuesday and agreed to postpone any decision.

Borràs is suspended from office for having to face trial for a cause linked to corruption and she does not receive any salary nor can she use her official car.

Neither did she the palace office.

Her team of advisers, however, who receive salaries between 3,400 and 6,000 euros per month – globally it represents almost 26,000 per month – continues in her positions.

The situation is not resolved and, according to parliamentary sources, it is linked to a future negotiation between Esquerra and Junts per Catalunya, which goes beyond the Parlament itself.

“There is no decision made and it has to be done carefully and calmly.

You have to talk about it at different levels, ”say these sources.

The six advisers are positions of free appointment of Borràs, who is suspended, but not dismissed.

Hence the strange legal-labor situation of the team for some groups, who denounce that its permanence is nonsense when the person they depend on does not work.

The salaries received by those affected range between 6,306 euros per month (chief of staff) and 3,429 euros per month (advisory technicians).

In the middle, there are two more scales: that of assistant to the chief of staff (5.

The Table has dealt with the case by rejecting a Citizens proposal that asked not to pay the advisers the July salary, when the president was suspended.

Carlos Carrizosa, president of the orange formation, has described as "unheard of" that the Chamber continues to support the collaborators.

“We are going to file a reconsideration.

The decision has had no other purpose than not to remove them from their posts”, said the leader of the orange formation after announcing, accompanied by Inés Arrimadas, that he will present a declaration to the constitutionalist parties so that they condemn the events that occurred on the 6th and 7th of September 2017 when the so-called disconnection laws prior to 1-O were approved.

The Parliament's lawyers are preparing a report on the employment situation of Borràs' assistants.

The deputy of the CUP, Xavier Pellicer, has highlighted that the anti-capitalist formation is waiting to hear this report on a case that, in his opinion, "has no precedent" and for it to be specified "what work these are doing." advisers”.

Pellicer has advanced that the CUP "has always made a criticism of parliamentary privileges" and points out that, despite the fact that Borràs is not dismissed but suspended, "this cannot imply that parliamentary privileges are extended."

Meanwhile, Borràs presents herself on the networks as if she were still serving as president of the Parliament and stars in events with the local boards of Junts and mayors of the party that continue to present her as the maximum representation of the second institution of Catalonia.

At the beginning of the month, she went to Riudoms (Tarragona) to inaugurate the Fira de la Avellana and this month she has visited various municipalities in Lleida.

On Friday, she will give a conference on 9/11 in Igualada.

Each act reflects a particular bath of crowds with photographs posted on her personal account.

Not only that: a few days ago she went to Begur (Girona), where she attended the XVII Fira de Indians and she signed in the Town Hall's book of honor.

The Consistory, governed by a mayor of Junts,

published images of Borràs's visit in which she is seen in the plenary hall treating her as president of the Parliament.

This Friday, Vergés will preside over the award ceremony for the Parlament's medals of honor prior to the Diada, which are awarded this year to Nuria Feliu and Pau Riba posthumously.

Borràs can attend as president of Junts.
