With the official appointment of Liz Truss to form Britain's next government and head it, it is hoped that the new Prime Minister, who is considered a great friend of Israel, will come after the formation of her government and the next Knesset elections for an official visit to Israel.

The last conservative British Prime Minister who visited Israel was David Cameron in 2014.

The two prime ministers who served after him, Theresa May and Boris Johnson, were too busy with the internal problems of their country and their party.

Terras planned to visit Israel this summer as part of her previous position as foreign minister, but had to cancel the trip following the resignation of Boris Johnson and the start of the campaign to elect a replacement party leader, in which she won.

Terras visited Israel for the first time in 2019 as her country's foreign trade minister.

In this position, she worked to upgrade the trade and cooperation agreements between the two countries.

"Tras sees Israel as an ally and not just a friend," Israel's ambassador to the UK, Tzipi Hotobli, told Israel Hayom.

"During her tenure as foreign minister, they saw a change in the agenda in this office.

Britain stood by Israel in the votes in the UN institutions and opposed the establishment of the Commission of Inquiry of the UN Human Rights Council following the "Guardian of the Walls".

Terras supported Israel's right to self-defense in all recent military operations and strongly pushed for the new trade agreement, the strategic agreement and the upgrading of relations between the two countries.

Terrass was asked by Queen Elizabeth II to form a new government. The meeting was held between the two at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, a little while after Johnson submitted his resignation to the Queen.

It was the first time in her 70-year reign that the Queen appointed a new Prime Minister outside the walls of Buckingham Palace.

Holding the appointment event in Scotland was due to increasing mobility problems of the 96-year-old Queen.

Elizabeth II's doctor advised her to avoid traveling to London and stay in the castle where she spends her annual summer vacation.

In the photo released by the royal house from the status of Taras's appointment, the Queen was seen bent over and leaning on a walking stick, but facing Taras' face with a wide smile.

Accepting the appointment in Scotland is of symbolic significance for Terrass: she spent many childhood years with her family in Scotland.

The demand for the independence of Scotland, La Terrasse firmly opposes, is expected to be one of the many challenges the new Prime Minister will face.

In a very short speech she gave upon entering the Prime Minister's Office, Truss clarified that Britain is now facing great challenges because of "Russia's terrible war" in Ukraine and the consequences of the Corona epidemic, but pledged to make Britain a nation that will be an inspiration.

'What has made Britain great is our belief in freedom, entrepreneurship and fair play.

With us the majority has time and again courage and determination.

Now is the time to face the challenges.

I know we have the necessary forces to deal with them.

It won't be easy, but we can do it.'

Truss clarified that Britain under her leadership will continue to stand by freedom and democracy around the world because without security in the world there will be no security in Britain.

She clarified that the three issues that will be at the top of her government's priorities are creating jobs and job opportunities and cutting taxes in order to obtain investments, dealing with the energy crisis caused by "Putin's war" and reforms in the public health service.

"The challenges must not bring down our spirits, I'm sure we can weather the storm, I'm determined to keep my promises."

Immediately after entering the residence, she began to staff her government, and even made history.

For the first time in the history of the kingdom, the four top portfolios in the government - including the Prime Minister - are not in the hands of white men. This is due to the appointments to the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Finance, and Defense. James Calverly is black.

At the end of three stormy years in office, Boris Johnson left the British Prime Minister's office at 10 Downing Street and went to Scotland, to officially inform Queen Elizabeth II of the end of his post.

In Johnson's farewell speech, he called on the members of his party to put an end to their political differences and unite behind the new Prime Minister, in order to get Britain out of the severe economic crisis it is in.

"This is a difficult time for the economy," Johnson admitted, "we will manage to get out of it."

He promised Terras his full support.

"I'm passing the torch to a new conservative leader," Johnson said to dozens of supporters, office workers, relatives and party members who gathered outside his office, and was proud of his government's achievements, "the people who managed to implement Brexit, the people who quickly provided corona vaccines that Europe cannot forget It was a conservative government.

The men who provided weapons early on to the brave Ukrainian resistance forces, an action that almost certainly changed the face of the biggest war Europe has known in 80 years.

I know that Truss and the passionate Conservative government will do everything to get Britain out of the energy crisis that has been forced upon us by Putin's terrible war.

We will overcome and win.

And if Putin thinks he will succeed in extorting or humiliating the British people, then he is completely delusional.'
