The prosecutor's office believed that Gur Finkelstein, who was previously convicted of violent crimes, would provide significant evidence for the Hirsch case • The indictment states that during 2010, Finkelstein planned to murder his ex-wife and her partner

State witness Gor Finkelstein was previously convicted of violent crimes and obstruction of justice.

After signing the state witness agreement, he was extensively interviewed by Israel Hayom and detailed his previous convictions.

Now it has been allowed to be published that Finkelstein was recruited to testify for the Hirsch bribery case - a case that was closed - but remained a witness in the tax case.

In addition, publication was allowed about another state witness in the case: Yossi Liran, who was the partner of the others involved in the activity in Georgia.

In September 2016, the Taxation and Economics Attorney's Office signed a state witness agreement with Finkelstein in the Gal Hirsch case.

At the time, the prosecutor's office believed that Finkelstein would be able to provide significant evidence for the case in which Hirsch was suspected of "bribing a foreign public servant", but the case was closed due to lack of evidence.

The indictment filed against Hirsch deals with tax offenses of approximately NIS 6 million, and the state committee remains to testify in this case.

In 2011, a serious indictment was filed against him for the crimes of attempted murder, conspiracy to commit a crime, aggravated assault, arson, and other crimes.

It is also alleged in the indictment that during 2010 Finkelstein planned to murder his ex-wife and her partner through other criminals, for a payment of NIS 140,000.

According to the indictment, he was involved in placing an explosive device in the car of his ex-wife's partner, which caused him serious injuries.

The District Court in Tel Aviv convicted Finkelstein of conspiracy to commit a crime, sabotage with aggravated intent, attempted sabotage with aggravated intent, attempted solicitation of murder and obstruction of justice.

On appeal to the Supreme Court, he was acquitted of the crime of attempted murder.

During his arrest in 2010 in the case of violent crimes, he tried to persuade a prisoner who was staying with him to murder the state witness who was recruited against him using cyanide type poison, and claimed that in return he would pay him a large sum of money.

He also instigated the murder of several other prosecution witnesses.

An undercover police agent revealed this and prevented the murder.

Finkelstein was convicted of the crimes of attempted solicitation of murder, obstruction of justice and impeachment and harassment of prosecution witnesses, including paying criminals to threaten the witnesses.

The court ruled regarding Finkelstein: "He has no fear of royalty, and he is right to do anything to disrupt legal proceedings."

lecture in colleges

Finkelstein used to have an active law firm, and he even lectured at law colleges.

He was Hirsch's partner in the "Defensive Shield" company and performed legal actions for the company.

In 2008, he transferred the shares of the company he owns to the company "C. Bahimsit Ai Ltd", which is owned by Oded Shechnai. Since then their business ways have separated, and Hirsch remains in partnership with Shechnai.
