Since simplistic reasoning has never solved an economic problem, it is doubtful that an exceptional tax on companies will overcome the energy crisis.
On the contrary, Emmanuel Macron has every good reason not to give in to demagoguery.
First, because the exceptional contribution of electricity producers who make profits thanks to soaring prices already exists.
EDF has been heavily involved in reducing the bill for its customers.
As for the players in renewables, the State recovers their excess profits: it will receive 8 billion in this respect...
