According to the report, the protesters tried to reach the fifth floor where the office of the Minister of Justice in the transitional government, Henry Khoury, is located.

But the minister was not present in his office at the time of the incident.

Local media reported that among the demonstrators were the families of the victims of the disaster who demanded to meet with the Minister of Justice and make it clear to him that they refuse the appointment of another judge to head the investigative committee.

More than two years have passed since the disaster at the port in which 218 people were killed and thousands were injured.

The explosion in the nitrate ammonium storage which was stored in poor conditions in the container and for a long time, also led to a lot of destruction throughout Beirut.

Many people lost their property and their homes.

Despite the consequences of the explosion, the investigation of the explosion encountered difficulties.

Politicians who were summoned to be questioned refused to do so, and the judges who headed the commission of inquiry were replaced one by one.

17 people were arrested for questioning by the authorities in Lebanon, including port workers, administration personnel and security officers.

However, two years have passed and not a single indictment has been filed.
