The Ninth National Show Championship for Purebred Arabian Horses kicks off

Amidst the distinguished presence of fans and audiences of Arabian horse beauty competitions, the ninth national show of the camel championship, organized by the Syrian Association of Purebred Arabian Horses in cooperation with the Office of Arabian Horses in the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, kicked off today at the Olympic Stadium of Al-Bassel Equestrian Club in Dimas, rural Damascus.

The opening ceremony witnessed artistic and musical performances with the participation of the Damascus Governorate Club, in addition to equestrian performances of picking pegs and archery from horseback, presented by the Police Knights team, amid encouragement and enthusiasm from the audience of the tournament.

In the opening speech, the Vice-President of the Syrian Association for Purebred Arabian Horses, Dr. Tariq Abdel Rahim, pointed out the importance of equestrianism as a sport rooted in Syria, which has always achieved remarkable achievements, the last of which was the bright medals they were awarded in the showjumping competition in the Mediterranean course that was held in Oran, Algeria.

Today, this championship comes to complete the march of excellence achieved by our equestrian, through the gate of camel shows, as it witnesses a professional competition between the elite of Arab horses, whether pure Syrian or registered Arab.

Abdul Rahim pointed to the great preparations that were made to hold this show, which aims to highlight the meanings of originality and beauty carried by the purebred Arabian horses in Syria, and the keenness to adhere to this ancient heritage, indicating that the show enjoys the participation of an elite group of distinguished cadres keen to highlight the aesthetic qualities of our horses, their physical strength and their graceful movement. Outstanding.

The competitions for the first day were devoted to pure Syrian Arabian horses for foals and foals, and were divided into six categories for horses born in 2019, 2020 and 2021, and three categories for mares aged 4 to 6 years, 9 to 12 years and 12 years and above, and two categories for horses aged 4 to 6 years and aged From 7 years and above.

As for the second day, it includes 8 categories, three of which are for foals born in the years 2019-2020-2021, and a category for foals for the same years as well, and two categories for mares aged from 4 to 6 years and aged from 8 years and above, and two categories for horses aged 4 and 5 years and 6 years of age and above.

The eighth show championship was held in 2019 after the seventh that took place in 2018, knowing that the association organized six shows before 2011.
