With an embarrassing slip of the tongue at the CDU party conference, Markus Söder drew a lot of ridicule.

Even Minister of Health Lauterbach joked.

Hanover - English is part of the basic education at German schools.

But many Germans find it difficult to pronounce the English sound "th".

Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder also seems to be causing problems with the sound.

In his case, this created an amusing slip of the tongue - to which even other politicians reacted.

Söder criticizes traffic light drug policy - and ends up making an embarrassing slip of the tongue

But first from the beginning: On Saturday Markus Söder was a guest at the party conference of the sister party CDU in Hanover.

There he spoke not only about the cohesion of the Union but also about the drug policy of the current federal government.

Söder criticized the traffic light government for the planned legalization of cannabis.

"I am against it," emphasized the CSU politician several times.

No country in the world was happy with the release of cannabis, claims Söder.

Then he came to the Berlin state association of the Greens to speak.

In the "now somewhat old-fashioned green party" they are the most progressive group, says Söder.

Mett instead of meth: Söder turns drugs into minced pork

Söder claims that the legalization of cannabis is no longer enough for them.

“Now we need cocaine and crystal meth!” the prime minister asserts.

But crystal meth sounded more like "Crystal Mett" to him.

And so the drug methamphetamine suddenly becomes raw pork mince.

Söder himself did not notice his slip of the tongue and continued his tirade about drugs and traffic light politics seriously.

However, the faux pas was circulated on social media.

Below the video of his speech, comments from Twitter users who make fun of the politician are piling up.

"***BREAKING NEWS FROM THE CDU PARTY DAY***Markus Söder calls for the legalization of "Crystal Mett", wrote the comedian Lutz van der Horst, for example.

Other users immediately illustrated the slip of the tongue and posted pictures of Mettwurst with crystals.

"It will be legendary and will go down in history!" Finds one user.

Söder's slip of the tongue received even more attention when Health Minister Karl Lauterbach joined the comedians.

"Despite this scathing criticism from Markus Söder that the legalization of cannabis promotes Chrystal-Mett consumption, we do not hesitate.

At least vegetarians remain safe,” joked the SPD politician.

However, Lauterbach made a spelling mistake himself: the synthetic drug is spelled “Crystal” and not “Chrystal” in English.

Söder's claim about the Berlin Greens is only partially correct.

The national association made a proposal to decriminalize hard party drugs such as ecstasy, cocaine and amphetamines.

"The right to intoxication should be a matter of course in a city of freedom like Berlin, it works even without the mentality of a Bavarian village police force," argued Greens parliamentary group leader Werner Graf.

However, the proposal made no mention of legalizing crystal meth.
