The National House of Books Theater in Aleppo hosted a signing ceremony for a novel entitled “Memory of a Heart” by the writer Thanaa Sadiq, organized by the Aleppo Culture Directorate, which included a critical reading of the writer and writer Ibrahim Kassar.

The novel talks about women's challenge to some societal customs and traditions that impose restrictions on their ambitions and successes within small sections consisting of 135 pages.

In a statement to SANA reporter, the writer Sadiq stated that her novel is a cry in the face of the impossible so that women do not become swayed by the circumstances and habits that restrict their development, noting that the novel is similar to a biography in terms of template and embodies excerpts from a woman's life with very realistic projections, some of which enter the writer's imagination.

On her choice to talk about women's challenges, she explained that women's suffering should be shed light on and encouraged to take care of themselves and their ambitions, in addition to fulfilling their duties towards their family so that they can make their mark in society alongside men.

The Director of Culture in Aleppo Jaber Al-Sajour explained the importance of this literary activity to shed light on the literary productions that enrich the cultural, intellectual and literary movement, pointing to the interest of the Ministry of Culture in all literary and cultural activities in the city of Aleppo.

For his part, the director of the National Book House, Muhammad Hegazy, who moderated the dialogue, pointed out that the house has always been concerned with all cultural and artistic activities, especially book signing ceremonies because of their importance in supporting the Arab and local library.

Hegazy pointed out the importance of supporting the youth group with their literary achievements, such as the young writer Sadiq, who has several contributions in the field of poetry and literature, explaining that the novel tells about the issue of love and women in the eastern society, which adheres to some customs that must be eliminated.

From the audience, the writer and poet Maha Al-Hajj Hassan spoke about the importance of the novel, which is a human emotional account of a tired woman tired of married life and raising children, pointing to the element of surprise in the last novel in which women prove their strength and creativity.

It is noteworthy that the writer Thanaa Sadiq has several publications, including “Letters Carried by the Moon” and has participated in many literary evenings and cultural lectures.
