He just wanted his debts paid off.

However, because he chose the wrong means, a Tölzer (53) ended up in front of the district court.

There he had to answer for property damage and dangerous bodily harm.

Bad Tölz - According to the indictment, the incidents that the accused is accused of occurred on two consecutive days shortly before New Year's Eve last year.

It started when the suspect demolished the door frame to his acquaintance's apartment with an iron bar.

On the evening of the next day he is said to have stood in front of the door again and hit the victim in the face with a flashlight when he opened it.

"I had lent him 30 euros in the winter, I probably wanted to have it back"

He couldn't say much about it, the 53-year-old said in court.

The reason he gave was a "booze intoxication".

Because he usually hardly drinks anything, the alcohol got to him badly at the time.

"I had loaned him 30 euros in the winter, which I probably wanted to have back," the defendant thought he remembered.

"I rang his bell several times, but he usually didn't answer.

Once he opened the door, but immediately slammed it shut again.” He couldn't be more precise.

At the crime scene, the police only meet the drunk victim

The police, who were called to the apartment building at around 7 p.m. on December 29, only found the victim at the scene of the crime.

He was "visibly under the influence of narcotics and alcohol," a police officer said in court.

An alcohol test had shown a value of 1.2 per mil for the injured party.

For the hearing at the district court, he appeared with a considerable delay.

Victim remembers the encounters differently

However, he remembered the meeting in December so well that the charge had to be slightly rewritten.

The two incidents happened on the same day and in reverse order: the defendant first "smashed" him, then he came back and hit the door with the iron bar, the witness reported.

Judge Helmut Berger sentenced the painter, who had various previous convictions, to a suspended sentence of six months, the minimum sentence for dangerous bodily harm.
