Prime Minister Yair Lapid will not go to the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.
Only the country's president Yitzhak Herzog officially represented Israel at the ceremony.

The last funeral of a British monarch was held 70 years ago, with the death of King George VI, Elizabeth's father.
Therefore, naturally the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is not used to this type of event and does not know all the complex rules of the ceremony that accompany it.
However, it is already clear that President Herzog, who serves as head of state, will attend the funeral.

At the end of the week it was learned that the funeral will be held on September 19, the date of Prime Minister Lapid's scheduled departure for the United Nations Assembly in New York. The United Nations Assembly will open on the 13th of the month, but the discussion stage at the level of the country's leaders will not open until the 20th of the month.
Tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon Lapid is scheduled to leave for a short political visit to Berlin, where he will meet tomorrow with German Chancellor Olaf Schulz.
This visit will be held as planned and will not be affected by the Queen's death.
Lapid is expected to return to Israel on Monday at night.
Israeli flags at the embassies were lowered to half-mast
In the meantime, the Israeli Embassy in London has already begun to prepare for the complex logistical operation with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Jerusalem.
The Israeli flag at the embassy was lowered to half-mast, as was also done at the Israeli embassies in Washington and several other missions around the world.
It is possible that in preparation for the day of the funeral, an official decision will be made by the Ministerial Committee for Symbols and Ceremonies to lower the national flags to half-mast also in the territory of the State of Israel.
