Damascus countryside-SANA
Rif Dimashq Governorate has identified 1,094 electoral centers for local council elections, distributed over regions, sub-districts, cities, towns, farms, and villages, in order to ensure ease of participation in the electoral process for all residential communities in the governorate.
In a statement to SANA reporter, the governorate’s Secretary-General Ahmed Abdullah said that the total number of electoral districts for the governorate council is 11, the number of electoral districts for city councils is 27, the number of districts for country councils is 47, and the number of districts for municipal councils is 82.
Abdullah confirmed that the governorate has completed all the logistical equipment and supplies related to the electoral process scheduled for September 18, and the committees that will supervise the elections have been identified.
The total number of candidates for the Damascus countryside governorate for administrative units and the governorate council reached 6553 candidates.
