The Ministry of Health announced today that the total number of confirmed cases of cholera in the country reached 53, distributed in Aleppo 22, Al-Hasakah 13, Deir Ezzor 10, Lattakia 6 and Damascus 2.
According to a ministry statement, SANA received a copy of it today, the total number of deaths from cholera was 7, distributed in Aleppo 4, Deir Ezzor 2 and Hasaka 1.
The ministry indicated that it will issue an update on the epidemiological situation to be published on its official platforms about cholera every 48 hours to facilitate obtaining information from its confirmed and exclusive source.
The ministry confirmed that it is conducting epidemiological surveillance of the disease around the clock and taking appropriate measures to surround it in cooperation with the concerned authorities, noting that treatment is available in all its forms, and hospitals have been strengthened and provided with an additional stock of treatment in anticipation of any increase in the number of limited cases so far.
The Ministry called on citizens to follow public health procedures and behaviors such as washing hands, drinking water from a safe source, washing fruits and vegetables well, cooking food and keeping it at the appropriate temperature, and not drinking or eating anything of unknown source or suspected of its safety, in addition to the importance of seeking early medical advice in case of suspicion. by injury.
The Ministry called for the necessity of being accurate and taking the information from its source only, stressing that it is exclusively concerned with announcing any disease or epidemic, under penalty of legal accountability to ensure the health of the individual and society, calling for the follow-up of its official platforms on the Internet and social networking sites.
