In the very short term, this resulted in water and heat stress.
This had relatively little impact on spring crops such as wheat, barley or rapeseed, but it had a very strong, even catastrophic effect on other crops such as sunflower and corn.
Market gardening, potatoes, berries and arboriculture were also affected by water restrictions.
It is difficult to quantify the total economic impact at this stage, but this crisis will contribute to a loss of production on the French farm this year, and make corn and fodder rare for livestock farming.
The growth of grass in the meadows has also been greatly reduced, which risks creating tensions this autumn on animal feed.
