The war in Ukraine, the gas crisis, the surge in inflation, the risk of a new recession:
many and all of the utmost importance are the issues that the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen will address on the occasion of her
annual speech on the State of the Union
calling for unity and solidarity.
From nine o'clock, the president of the European executive will address the MEPs gathered in the Strasbourg hemicycle to illustrate, among other things, a broad package of new initiatives aimed at creating tools with which to face the current crises and lead the EU towards the energy transition
, while accelerating independence from Russia's hydrocarbon imports.
For the occasion, Volodymyr Zelensky's wife, Olena Zalenska, will also be present in Strasbourg.
